River listened, made me smile

I spoke to the river,
it listened to my sorrow
a gust made lilies quiver
I then looked on below
a fountain did cascade
the sound of water sprayed
I couldn’t help but smile
feeling better all the while.

I’m so glad the poem spoke to you, Karuna. I love water!! In Toronto I first moved to Lakeshore…every morning I could see the most beautiful sunrise over the lake:) just like the river growing up:)

Does the river freeze in the winter?

Yep…there is ice fishing on lakes and ponds and some rivers. I learned to skate on the river behind my house. But winters are not the way they were with global warming, it is unpredictable. I would NOT go on rivers or lakes anymore.

Unbelievable… It was so hot here today and the hills are completely brown.. Like it’s late October… This isn’t going to be good:( It will be all about water.

We are expecting 41 factoring in the humid-ex (105F) tomorrow…we could send you some humidity. And poor Saskatchewan that is struggling with flooding.

It makes me laugh how people south of assume we are in the Yukon…haha. Our weather is similar to New York and Vermont

I thought it was higher in latitude than Toronto… It’s a desert here… California is screwed but some don’t know it..

Hi, I came here via another poetry blog. Just wanted to tell you this was a beautiful poem. Sometimes, nature has a way of soothing us that words cannot. ❤

Thank you kindly for commenting and for following my blog. I am truly honoured….the water does it mostly for me but at work we are fortunate to be allowed to step on our rooftop and I often see beautiful sunsets. Nature truly is soothing. Cheryl-Lynn
