A little bit about moi:
I am a mom, a nana, a sister, a woman, a friend, a human being…a youth counsellor, Family Life Educator.
I have been working in the helping profession for over 25 years and volunteered in various capacities from youths to seniors.
Tournesol is my nom de plume for haiku and other Japanese form poetry here at Tournesoldansunjardin https://cheryllynnroberts.wordpress.com I hope you enjoy reading through my daily waka.
I also have another blog "Stop the Stigma" where I may stand on my soapbox now and then and hope it will become a place to drop in and share or comment on issues important to you. In that vein this could be a great way to learn from each other.

Wow, it’s pretty, but I don’t really like winter weather–unless I can just stay in and write!

It is a blessing–though on icy days the small incline is tricky!

It is the complete opposite where I am in Malaysia. Summer all year round, with more rain. 🙂

I should retire there then:)

You should seriously consider, Cheryl-Lynn! Malaysia has a great retirement package for foreigners. It’s called, Malaysia My Second Home. Lots of foreign friends have taken up on that. 🙂

I have heard of many men in Quebec have retired there. I must check that out.

I would call that a beautiful snapshot. Haibun is so wonderful when practiced like this.

Only a few really bad blizzards here. Mostly cold – last year it was the cold not the snow that closed businesses and shops.
I do remember though having to shovel. Easier to clear our drive with our snow-blower, when there is too much of it. other wise it can be push/shoveled or just swept. This morning it was 32F. Frost in the shade. Though it is almost 50 F now. Might get to go out for a bit. Cold weather is on the horizon.

Oh so much better to stay on the couch in weather like that!

Yes, now that I don’t have a car, I am not so worried when it snows…well, I worry for my kids but I don’t have to shovel my car out of the snow and slip and slide and avoid other cars. I do enjoy walking after a storm though…nice to walk on virgin snow and the air is so calm.

Well .. some good comes from every bad they say. I never learnt to drive until about 6 years ago, so did everything either on foot, with my scooter or using public transport. I like to walk in the snow when it’s falling … gives me a great feeling.

Another thing we both like:) I am considering getting a scooter next Spring.

Yes – best to stay on the couch with that book! But if you have to be out in it, that crunching snow means safety compared to the silence of the ice …..
