setting sail (haiku)

He had won many trophies in regattas all over North America and yet…

Well, that is one great idea!! The person I had in mind taught my ex and I how to sail a catamaran and was afraid of water, could not swim and respected the water and wind.

I resonate with this lovely gem of a poem. I know exactly how (s)he feels. The last time I flew to France, the trip was so turbulent that I kissed the ground in Paris.

Yes, he respected the elements. And on my first and only trip overseas (UK) there was so much turbulence the person sitting next to me tried to comfort me and then I understood why people clap when we land.

It sounds like it was pretty scary.

Yup. Everything important to me in this world (my husband and kids) was on the plane with me. I thought the wings would shake off with so many hours of turbulence. But they didn’t. YAY!

I liked how no matter how many times he had done it, he still prayed for a safe journey each time.

He was indeed. The first time I tried trapeze on a catamaran,I felt with him at the bow and his wife as the crew because I knew he would not take chances to flip over

Yep, when I later dated a fella with a Harley, I felt the same thrill riding as sailing on trapeze.
