dragons prowl
shadows in the night
snow puffs soothe
dragons prowl
always one snowflake behind
can’t catch me

shadows in the night
tall and short circling me
my companion

snow puffs soothe
shimmering softly
winter’s gems

Thanks, Janice, I`m still in “it’s a lovely winter” mood 🙂 Are you still doing Jury duty?

I love the entire poem but that last alliteration is magical: “snow puffs soothe
shimmering softly.”

Thanks so much, Melinda, for your most kind words…always so wonderful you are! I was so taken by these images and the snow does not stay that way for long so anyone seeing me at midnight snapping photos outside in the cold might wonder if I still am sane.

You’re welcome 🙂 just tell them you’re snapping the pics for your followers who live in places who don’t have any snow on the ground right now 🙂

Well of course, I am and even folks here enjoy the beauty of winter. We whine enough about the slush, the ice, the dangerous driving but there is beauty. I am waiting the forecast to change so I can rent a car and visit friends in the country. I am way too cautious now that I am probably a danger to the impatient drivers behind me 😉

being safe is a good thing! Those impatient drivers can go around if they must. I hope you get a break in the weather and can make those visits soon.

Ooo my dragons were in the fireplace maybe taking a break from chasing snowflakes.

ah, then they melted away perhaps or went back to get some “more” fire.
