amid the lilacs
blindly searching
her fragrance

amid the lilacs
memories stir
her gentle smile

blindly searching
under the full moon
lilt of her voice

her fragrance
revisited
from heaven

Your words took me back to my childhood and the lilac bushes in our yard. The aroma was just beautiful. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks so much for a wonderful compliment, Janice. After writing that last haiku, I could feel my grandmother in her backyard near the lilac tree. The full moon shining over the river.

This has a lovely nostalgia to it. There aren’t so many lilac bushes around these days. It’s a shame.

I used to bring some to my teachers in grade school from my grandmother’s tree:) Smells like our youth 🙂

Thanks. Sorry it took long to respond… your comment went to my spam folder. I think that happens sometimes when a long link is included.. I’m off to check yours now.
