holding folded flag
bugle sounds that tap the soul
weeping for her son
*
weeping for her son
honour does not spare a life,
curses every war

Walking home after school in spring, she drags her feet singing “Cherish” under her breath. The sun was still shining but a few clouds started moving overhead slowly. She hardly noticed droplets on her chin. Looking up she smiles, knowing somewhere there will be a rainbow.
dancing softly
tiny puddles on the river
raindrops
~
warm droplets
kiss her eyelashes
sun winks

pushing
race to the métro
extend my cup
pushing
shoving past me
never see me
race to the métro
tripping over tired feet
cup tips over
extend my cup
whispering my mantra,
clink of a coin

a perfect day
sky so blue
surreal
sun aglow
warms winter’s hands
melting snow
I burst with love
from every pore
to feel so prised
and ever more
heart melted like sun stroked frost
frozen ponds and icy streams
this felt just like
those corny dreams
it was in fact
a perfect day
a birthday spell
that fills my heart
still feel it swell.
icicles
would surely melt
my heart’s aglow

chasing playfully
in the open meadow
tag you’re it!
giggling like children
old shed in the meadow
playing naughty
