What if I don’t remember?

B questioning me nov 13

la sénescence ne pardonne pas
La mémoire
est une faculté
qui oublie.

Senility is unforgiving.
Memory
is a faculty
that forgets.

*********

What if I don’t remember?

Every time

I don’t remember

a name, a street even a number

I do get queasy

inside my tummy.

what are my fears?

have my fair share.

driving about … anywhere

what if I lose my way out there?

I do get frightened

I’ll not come back

get lost in thought

take two wrong turns

and then I fear

I’ll lose my way…

but what about

my thoughts, my words

your face, your voice,

and all my memories?

that blasted

evil enemy

may visit me

some day …

  and stay!

That shameful senility

may rob me of my dignity.

at last, you’ve blossomed

Don’t give up

KellieElmorePhotoPrompt

If it were a child she carried for 40 weeks

more or less,

she would find a way, she seeks

courage to fight moments of despair

patience to meet times of frustration

forgiveness to any bouts of commotion

knows a child does not comprehend,

a child expects unconditional love

a child deserves absolute compassion and regard

and then shall she take to this to mean

that Life as she sees it, feels it,

smelling vomit, tasting sweetness,  serene

Life as it hurts, cuts bit by bit

Life with its multiple personality

Life with its joys and glee

Life with its mundane and bizarre

is all she will get here, near and far

only once in this time around…

and so she will hold it with kindness

and unconditional love and fondness

as if it were her baby she carried

for 40 weeks, more or less

and she shall find solace that she is,

Life is, simply…

meant to be…

When Life seems too difficult to bear, don’t despair

Treat it as your child…unconditional and loving care.

Holy C Melan

deadlygothicdesigns.webs.com
deadlygothicdesigns.webs.com

Her nickname is Melan,

she is of sly, slithering species

tantalizing in her distinct bouquet

mesmerizing in her discrete array

of victims of her choosing

dripping bliss as she`s oozing

her prisoners of despair

suffer anguish in her care.

Hallowed in her divine

prowess she will define

the true painful meaning

finds her prey ever demeaning

suffering the wrought of her ability

winning casualties of her torment

sinking teeth of Ms. Melan C. Holy

whilst innocent souls lament.

Too often the powers of depression or long dreaded visits of melancholy can bring a person down. Not everyone has to be diagnosed with clinical, situational or other forms of depression to relate to these feelings of despair and I thought this poem describes the tormenting visits of this Melan C Holy baby.

Celestial brush strokes

I certainly never hide the fact
that I love to take many photos of the sky…
cloudy, sunny and especially sunsets.
Fortunately, I am able
to see amazing sunsets on our rooftop
at work in the milder weather….
so soon I will be able to capture
those hues of magenta, orange and
purplish blues mixed in the horizon.
But my photos are very amateur;
not having proper equipment, I feel
I can never capture the beauty
that this blogger/photographer does,
nor do I have her talent.
And that is why artists need admirers
and viewers as I enjoy to look
with regard, appreciation and admiration.

The first image I saw when I woke up this morning was this beautiful masterpiece that nature creates day after day but only a few select eyes can capture and actually share with the world.

This is one of them.

Check out Michelle Marie’s blog at Tell Me About It
to see the endless images she creates and
the lovely words of inspiration she adds in her poetry.

Their spirits unite

tranquil

readying for night-

fall…still,

this moment

so serene

cascades in between

daylight

and

twilight;

celestial beings

gather

their brushes…

together…

brush,

stroke,

hush!

and admire,

brush

that does caress

our skyline

with finesse,

sweep

here, there…

with endless

enduring wear…

Now shush!

hear the chorale

breathing life

effortless…

mime

Ahhhhh!

rhyme

meditative

and sublime

now hush!

hear my heart-

beat, rush

as I see this

vision of

divine bliss

a masterpiece

melts in the horizon.

Love is…

me as a child

Children are unique
in their own special way
genuine, innocent
loving, rarely doubting yours,
assuming and expectant
walking with a purpose
head up high
asking “Why?”
saturate
interpret;

adults comment
may offend,
criticize with slight
or no intent
but cause them
still
discontent
makes them question
their self worth,
turns their life
from grief to mirth
roller coaster
rides begin
games are played
don’t always win,
grieving, growing
stumbling, laughing
learning rules
avoiding fools
mentors
make them wiser
hardships
make them stronger,
perhaps
they’ll find romance,
promise and commitment
never-ending love
soul mates are for life
two turn into one,
in the end,
procreate
having children…
cycle spins again
love ensues
power fuels
everlasting love.

It’s that time of year when I get the itch. You know it reminds me a bit of the 7 year itch ( but not the deception itch) it  has more to do with getting in touch with self, loving self and others as well.  Just weeks before springtime, you long for romance, being in someone’s arms…those warm sensual budding feelings are simmering, ready to burst. Itching to daydream, love, fall in love, feel loved…soft silky petals  of flora give that feeling as well as their scent … tantalizing and mesmerizing.

I am located in colder climates, so the flowers have not quite started budding, the trees are totally barren and as we look at snow here and there, I reminisce of what Mother Nature has in store for her humble human minions…soon.

The Cluttered Mind

Street Art, de Gaspé, Montréal, Qc. - Cheryl-Lynn
Street Art, de Gaspé, Montréal, Qc. – Cheryl-Lynn

Any clutter

causing turmoil,

attempt to toil

and scrub keenly

rinse liberally

wipe cleanly

look gingerly

It’s Spring!

Hurry!

Remove the mess

missing calmness

too much there

too little where

it really counts

{sigh!}

Futile movements

STOP!

Relax,

observe

sight see

in your chi!

Explore!

corners and  inspect

under crannies

introspect

scrutinize

reconnoiter

do not tolerate

things that loiter

fester and disintegrate

left with useless rubbish

causing souls to tarnish,

losing life’s clear luster;

Investigate

contemplate

meditate

navel-gazing

can be daunting

awful or amazing…

times even

hair-raising…

Feeling outrage!?

don’t dispirit

seek a sage,

catch the culprit

of doom

and gloom

and misery!

trash the felon

forever gone !

Now, there’s room

for finer things

like hope and love

long-lasting peace

tranquility

… and,

serenity.

Secrets of despair

She listens with benevolence

the stories never told

of shame and guilt and violence

those tales so raw and bold.

A pause ensues, she hears a sigh

despite attempts to offer hope

they still may cry

the tears offer relief

some tales are just too hard to bear

she hears them in their grief;

the hardest tale of all to share

are secrets found in dark despair

forbidden truths,

unmasking lies

she holds their secrets in her heart

a first step they shall make in part

exploring some of their options,

tomorrow is another day

and she’ll be there to hear their say.
