soft breeze from the mountains
watching over me
ghosts in the trenches
whisper deeds of loss
and victory
soft breeze from the mountains
birds singing along the road
to Santiago
watching over me
transcendental moment
spirits show the way

CDHK Carpe Diem #1116 Saint James Scallops
They set sail early in the morning leaving Venice- en-Québec to meet friends in Vermont for a picnic. He steered the cat keeping the mainsail taut. There was a soft breeze in the morning at barely ten knots but by noon it had dropped. They might not get to Grand Isle in time. He lowered the sail and leaned back and let her tack the jib searching patiently for a puff here and there. For the first time in years, the children were at their grandparents and they were finally able to talk without interruptions.
couple sets sail
nature whispers softly
lagging with a purpose
the cosmos grants a still day
soulmates connecting
