I have been working in the helping profession for over 25 years and volunteered in various capacities from youths to seniors.

Its always a good question Cher, what is poetry, and it is all those things you mentioned. Its the succinct way of expressing an idea, emotion or story….and we spend most of our lives playing with the form to get something we like and maybe others will like as well.
i never tire of trying to get it right.

I am slowing down in writing but now that the pressure is off, I find I can just write more impulsively for now;) it was fun.
