A little bit about moi:
I am a mom, a nana, a sister, a woman, a friend, a human being…a youth counsellor, Family Life Educator.
I have been working in the helping profession for over 25 years and volunteered in various capacities from youths to seniors.
Tournesol is my nom de plume for haiku and other Japanese form poetry here at Tournesoldansunjardin https://cheryllynnroberts.wordpress.com I hope you enjoy reading through my daily waka.
I also have another blog "Stop the Stigma" where I may stand on my soapbox now and then and hope it will become a place to drop in and share or comment on issues important to you. In that vein this could be a great way to learn from each other.

rainy days
sometimes imitate
our sad tears
daily cares
when the sun returns we find
our silver lining
Hope all is well dear friend!

Oh my no! 😦
I’m so sorry…are you sure there’s nothing that can’t be done, at least to try a back-up? Did you have a second back-up at least for some of your photos and docs?

no second backup…the reason I had this portable drive but I cannot access it at all …it says it is empty…when did that happen?? grrrrr

hmmm… this might sound crazy, but once you buy a second hd, but it into the freezer for awhile…hook the two up and see if you can’t recoup. You might also try easeus data recovery, a free software that sometimes helps recover data…and then transfer asap.

Oh well…sorry to hear all that work is gone. I’ll tell you something though, over the years I’ve found that supports are very approximate. CDs and DVDs are suddenly unreadable, the flash drive doesn’t flash, hard disks drive fry. Probably the best thing is paper (or online storage).
