Sitting here
contemplate
not so clear
roles of late
sitting here
I am, I am,
pondering
reflecting
weighing pros
and also cons
making sure
I don’t lose sight
of simple basic principles,
As I think of this tonight
I ask for some guiding light
and grace to finally see
make sure I never
ever ever
lose sight of things that matter.

This was originally written for a prompt 51 at Pooky Poetry on Loss of Sense but I misunderstood obviously, yet decided to post it anyway.
Good 🙂 Take care

You did well to publish it anyway. It’s a lovely poem!

I’m also glad you posted it anyway. Several of my Writing 101 posts were “mistakes” either from misunderstandings or else I hadn’t read it carefully and missed something. I also decided I liked them the way they were and published them anyway!

Thanks so much, Karuna. It is a poem I would not have hesitated on my other blog but under my own name, I did take a chance and thought to myself, “Why not? It was meaningful when I wrote it, so go for it!”
