stargazing (haibun)

Carpe Diem Haiku Kai – Stargazing

She remembers her father pointing to the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper;  she would scrunch up her nose, squint,  trying real hard to see what he could see. Those were times she still looked up to him as her hero. Thank goodness for fond memories of star gazing nights with him.

  1. I can relate to this very much …. as father of four children and a bunch of grandchildren, I love to gaze at the stars and point them to the constellations and other bright stars …. it’s great.

    1. Ah yes, I can see you explaining so well with much patience too! You are always so patient and kind as a mentor, I can only imagine as a papa or Grandpapa:)

  2. The planets Venus and Jupiter are bright and moving closer in our June sky this year. Not stars, I know, but…my father would get out his telescope and we’d take turns looking at the moon!
