Once winter’s solstice has passed, life seems more promising. In spite of the short days, dark mornings and early dusk, we know that each day there will be a slight change…baby steps but still, It is encouraging. This morning, she notices dawn was five minutes earlier than a few days ago. Sunset is fifteen minutes earlier than Christmas day. Each extra moment of daylight counts as one looks forward to spring.

Yes, it slowly creeps up and the sun is setting later now and I can soon admire it during my first coffee break at 5:30…Okay, not until March but still, I am hopeful.

Exactly. Last year was too close to my mom’s passing I just could not see clearly and this morning I feel like my mom is nudging me to enjoy each changing day.

Interesting, the sky is grey but the sun pierces through. Perhaps it seems brighter with the glare of the snow.

It does eh? I bet people going to work early in the morning are noticing it too…although there is a time I do remember the sun so strong creeping up the horizon but they have great “granny” sun glasses for the sun and snow at hardware stores. My kids would drone out of embarrassment when I wore them but hey, I could see at least 😉
