off to the country
golden and shepherd await
feline left behind
meowing and nuzzling
reaping those last strokes

  2. Bette seems a lot more understanding about these kinds of things than my Usako. I’m gone for even an hour and she’s upset with me. ‘Course she has a summer cold too, so that doesn’t help matters.
