crimson skies wane
sparrows’ songs slowly fade
casting shadows

casting shadows
nature waits in mute patience
dancing of the stars

      1. Sometimes the best haiku come like that – there’s some work behind the scenes, then later on, a haiku emerges relatively easily.

    1. Thanks so much, Hamish. I originally wrote the haiku with the last line including the performance of the stars but I had not saved it at work and recreated it, first as a tanka , then 2 haiku. I am satisfied with the first one as well.
