solo journey (jisei)

(troiku)

trace of autumn
wilting sunflower
lingers

trace of autumn
season closing in
darkness swells

wilting sunflower
falling to enrich
tomorrow’s garden

lingers
fading sun dips
to the other side

(tanka)

…on this muddy path
rich with fallen leaves
times remembered
walking solo on this journey
winter beckons
