Saying goodbye to places called “heaven”are always difficult. From Mendocino, Redwoods, Napa Valley, Santa Rosa, San Francisco, Monterrey, Big Sur, Carmel, Pebble Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and back to San Francisco to San José. And now leaving sunny San Diego…
Sitting pensively on the cool sand, she looks at the sea. Tomorrow she will be in another world, from sand to snow.
One last time
slipping beyond
that faraway line
one last time
rumble of crinolines
kick their heals
slipping beyond
bidding this world
adieu
that faraway line
a million ripples away
beyond one’s reach
A little bit about moi:
I am a mom, a nana, a sister, a woman, a friend, a human being…a youth counsellor, Family Life Educator.
I have been working in the helping profession for over 25 years and volunteered in various capacities from youths to seniors.
Tournesol is my nom de plume for haiku and other Japanese form poetry here at Tournesoldansunjardin https://cheryllynnroberts.wordpress.com I hope you enjoy reading through my daily waka.
I also have another blog "Stop the Stigma" where I may stand on my soapbox now and then and hope it will become a place to drop in and share or comment on issues important to you. In that vein this could be a great way to learn from each other.

I know… before choosing this resort, I checked many places where there had been fires. It so devastating the fires California has seen in the past few years.
Stunning sunsets and words to match!

Beautiful and slightly sad. I have many cousins in California. Not long ago they were dodging fires in the San Diego area.
