soft sounds of longing 
travelling through each brittle branch 
buds can’t wait to burst 
 
soft sounds of longing 
snow is muffling cries below 
impatient tulips 
 
travelling through each branch 
dripping sap to quench their thirst 
maples on my street 
 
buds can’t wait to burst 
Mother Nature sings her song 
“there there, won’t be long
