counting every year

  1. So quickly the years pass. Went to my last surviving aunt’s 87th birthday party today. She was 12 years younger than my uncle. Seems like yesterday I visited them and smelled the gardenia bush in their yard. Fell in love with the gardenia aroma and carried years later as a young bride.

      1. My son has an explanation for this phenomenon. When you are 5 a year is 1/5 of your life which seems like forever between say birthdays. When you are 60, 12 years are that same 1/5 of your life. And it seems like just last year. I do not know who taught him all his smarts. LOL.

      2. He does have a masters in industrial psychology thus comes some of his wisdom. Another favorite I hear him say is about raising children. The days are long but the years are short.

      3. So true!! I find the days move faster when I am writing or reading (when I am alone) Today I wrote through my pain and seem more accepting. Resistance seems to augment any pain. Far from wise but trying ever slowly Wish I was in a warmer climate..it was a winter day yesterday again.
