city mornings (troiku) Daily Moments December 4, 2017

early morning start
Monday in the city
people watching

early morning start
unaccustomed
autumn dark skies

Monday in the city
rush hour push and shove
coins drop in tin cup

people watching
one by one they shuffle by
empty cups in hand

(troiku)

trace of autumn
wilting sunflower
lingers

trace of autumn
season closing in
darkness swells

wilting sunflower
falling to enrich
tomorrow’s garden

lingers
fading sun dips
to the other side

(tanka)

…on this muddy path
rich with fallen leaves
times remembered
walking solo on this journey
winter beckons

summer breeze
through the window
quivering blossoms

summer breeze
rustling leaves
muffling moans

through the window
nature procreates
caterwauls

quivering blossoms
stems gyrate with the wind
pure delight

old man walking – Troiku – Daily moments November 26 2017

old man walking
heading to his last demise
knows not what’s ahead

old man walking
hoping for a better draw
winnings from his game

heading to his last demise
his pockets bare, he lost again
heart filled with despair

knows not what’s ahead
stepping off the curb to cross
crashing to his fate

life is filled
with obstacles to grip
do at what you may

life if filled
compassion is the game
despite miseries

with obstacles to grip
chance to live and learn
turn your life around

do at what you may
if you can get it right this time
paradise awaits

MicroPoetry Month #26

night reflections (troiku)

day after day
waiting
still – no sunrise

day after day
Time passes
without  me

waiting
under the weeping willow
shadows mocking

still – no sunrise
Mother Earth can’t even rescue
she’s stopped  spinning

Daily moments – Nigh reflections November 25/17

first Robin spotted
the low lands are facing the dark
snow falls softly (c)  Chėvrefeuille’17

first robin spotted
the low lands are facing the dark
snow falls softly

first robin spotted
pecking with purpose
on mother’s clothes line

the low lands are facing the dark
shadow slowly lifts
at dawn

snow falls softly
marking their spot
amid fallen leaves

crimson light (troiku)

Below them,
the dark streets beckoned
with crimson light.

below them
silence of city streets
screamed with loneliness

the dark streets beckoned
warmer hearts
and fuller bellies

with crimson light
feigning love and musky scents
to pay the rent

Daily Moments – sleep interrupted- November 21 2017

voices echo
words revolving
on a merry-go-round

voices echo
abysmal
clutching

words revolving
aimlessly
bent out of shape

on a merry-go-round
spinning out of control
my weary brain

life’s options (troiku – shadorma) Daily moments November 16th/17

(troiku)

autumn simmers
reassessing life’s options
season’s nesting spell

autumn simmers
rolling into sleepy times
winter’s slumber

reassessing life
sitting by a crackling fire
knitting my options

season’s nesting spell
searching under winter skies
making snow angels

(shadorma)

thoughts echo
in my weary brain
telling me
to slow down
run through future options
life is too damn short

hasty dusk Troiku MicroPoetry Month November 13 th Daily Moments

five o’clock shadows
hasty dusk settles
all day long

five o’clock shadows
greyness fills the soul
sullen shroud

hasty dusk settles
hiding any hope
melancholy rains

all day long
life without promise
haunting season’s end

Written for MicroPoetry Month #13 – Daily Moments.  Looking outside all I saw was grey and took a photo…the photo does not seem as grey as the day actually.
