November quest
kiku blossoms whispering
forget me not

In the cool autumn nights of November they stir in their beds. Not a sound is heard as they wiggle their way out breathing in one long inhalation of new life. Adorning their beds are yellow chrysanthemums slowly decaying from the cold winds. Yet, as they breathe upon them, life is restored and their stems straighten at attention and their blossoms billow.

(troiku)
roaming in the night
over fields of poppies
visiting loved ones

roaming in the night
startling
the old night owl

over fields of poppies
coming back
to be remembered

visiting loved ones
ever so gently
in their dreams

Daily moments – never forgotten – November 8 2017

MicroPoetry Month – November 8  2017

Birthday memories

autumn sunshine
is that really you, Mom?
through my window

blinded by memories
holding my first born

proud Nanny
strutting with purpose
pushing an English pram

irresistible urges
pinching his chubby cheeks

time flashes by
grandson holds her frail hand
in a nursing home

Nanny just won’t let go
love always wins over

recalls for one split second
joys of grandmotherhood

searching nervously
in his liquid blues
it all comes back

dipping his tiny fingers
in his first birthday cake

Daily moments – birthday memories  November 7 2017

Micropoetry Month November 7 2017

special day (fibonacci and naani)

joy
felt
seeping
through my pores
kinfolk stopover
unexpected precious embrace
my lips are smiling as I Iisten to my heart sing

tap
tap
tapping
my feet to the tunes
rising my soul to paradise
such miracles can only come from the universe.

vision of grace
red leaves on branches
poised
enduring hope

grey skies return
housekeeping never done
closing season
winter’s duvet awaits

Micropoetry Month – November 5th,  2017 – Daily moments

We are asked to write a Fibonacci with as many lines as we wish following the Fibonacci sequence. I tried to keep it short (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13) and closed with two naani poems.

November skies (solo renga)

Solo Renga

different shades of grey
misty skies and barren trees
autumn’s dark demise

lavish colours washed away
November’s final purge

wise ones flying south
joining other feathered friends
honking their goodbyes

eerie nights (troibun) Daily Moments October 30/17

Clouds no longer form shapes in the sky. All one sees now is grey and greyer. Wind gusts and rain make the trees flap their arms shedding their leaves that are still green! The day is coming and we feel it in our bones due to the dampness, the cold and daunting night of Hallow’s Eve.

filled with tears

stars hiding
waiting to shine
on All Hallow’s Day

behind heavy billows
stories retold
of revered saints

filled with tears
dressed as an angel
dropped all her candies

Written for Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge: Spooky Night

A troiku is a new form of haiku created by Chevrefeuille at CarpeDiemHaikuKai. I have coined the haibun in this case a Troibun.

Sweet dreams of love (solo no renga)

decades
of love affairs
reminiscent dreams

Marvin Gaye reminding me
how sweet it is

thinking of you
lightheaded and giddy
breathing in your scent

help me before I fall in love
all over again

melancholy dreams
a case of you so bittersweet
my soul still bleeds

Daily Moments – October 18/17 -Reflections of loves come and gone, sweet love and bitter heartbreaks

season’s rest (troiku)

sunbeams
orbs floating
through the window

sunbeams
spreading wide
sunflowers

orbs floating
dancing on their path
coming from the light

through the window
Amma’s loving embrace
my soul opens

sunflowers bow
in reverence
time has come

sunflowers blow
petals dropping one by one
goodbye tears

in reverence
prostrating
amber leaves

time has come
nature’s well deserved
sleep

making room for Thanksgiving – daily moments Oct 7/17

Image may contain: tree, sky, plant, outdoor, nature and water

yesterday
the leaves were dancing,
waving with the wind
a young man fished
as the sun set

today
the sun hides
behind heavy clouds

nature sleeps
cleaning debris
time to muse

nature sleeps
giving time to mend
busy harvest days

cleaning debris
genuine
soul searching

time to muse
brooding over life’s gifts

Checking the time
Only 3 :00 AM?!

The night crawls
Light on on my tablet
Catchup on friend’s blogs

Tossing and turning
Anchored in worry
Reading chased away
