parks come alive
melodies of springtime
swings squeak
parks come alive
children giggling
shouting “tag, you’re it!”
melodies of springtime
birds sing their tunes
echo through the trees
swings squeak
lovers swaying to the tune
rhythm of their hearts

The sound of chanting Hail Mary’s in different tones echoes from the bedroom. They are all kneeling around the bed of their dying father. The antique clock on the old sideboard ticks. Soft moans turn gradually into anguished cries.

l’arrivée du printemps

Zinnia is a genus of plants of the sunflower tribe within the daisy family. That makes me smile since daisies are my favourite flowers and sunflower is my nom-de-plume. This plant is native to dry grassland in areas from Southwestern United States to South America.
What a great way to end this blogging challenge with such a beautiful flower that is the second cousin to Tournesol.

Written for, Bastet’s Monday Haiga.
At Carpe Diem Haiku Kai, we were asked to write a shadorma on “fantasy” and I chose to write about an imagery ending with a troiku.
(shadorma)
month of May
makes me reminisce
Mother’s Day
without you
is never ever the same,
but – now I’m Nana!
tunes play in my head
with eyes closed,
you’re right here
Judy Garland is Somewhere
‘Over the Rainbow

your voice seems so real
imageries of long ago
melodies of you
your voice seems so real
your laugh echoes
warms my heart
imageries of long ago
I’m still
ton bébé
melodies of you
Irish Eyes and Edelweiss
make me smile

Three Word Wednesday Tantrum, Tear, Tender
Skilful tease
stirs her ardent needs
butterfly kiss
budding heart,
responds to silken strokes
with heavy sighs
such reveries
throughout the night – and,
quickened gasps
pulsating
painting rosy cheeks
radiant
awakens in shortened breaths
ah, such momentary bliss!

under the Willow
weeps over her loss,
– first love
under the Willow
looking over the pond
water lily floats
weeps over her loss,
only time heals
frog splashed in the pond
– first love
pure and innocent
never forgotten
