I am trying to keep the mood of our host and mentor for already, almost three years of hosting haiku memes. Rather than translate word for word, I have written both a French and English interpretation of his haiku:

haiku poets
write about transience … a short moment
lasting in time

haiku poets
come together in passing – still,
virtual and real

poètes de haïku
rendez-vous précaire – encore,
virtuel et vrai

early morning walk
through the park that looks so fragile –
sunrise and dew frost

prince winter has made his round

Carpe Diem Haiku Kai

Autumn walk (30 doh – 023 September haiga)

Finally, she can breathe with the temperatures lowered but not plummeted to shock the body. Walking to work she looks at the fallen leaves forming a lovely carpet and up at the changing colours ever so slowly resisting the transition this year for some reason. Ah, yes, due the unusual warmth, nature is quite confused. Again she approaches her concrete garden that seems to blossom only in the fall. Perhaps it is a gift from the gods hiding underneath sowing the seeds all through summer.

trees shed leaves
yielding to season’s slumber
wildflowers resist

window gazing she knows
I’m here for the night

waiting
sleeps in her five beds
knowing I`ll come home

twenty-four buses pass
then I waltz in

I’m here for the night
never a doubt that I am
her night companion

twilight walk (haibun)

This time of year she looks forward for her walk home late at night. The moon gets bigger nearing midnight, shining on her path she walks slowly not feeling really alone.
