misleading beauty
industries and farms purge,
Yamaska River
running through villages
like Saint-Hyacinthe

the village glows with sweet plum flowers (Anonymous)

in her mind’s eye-
sucks the juice of that first plum,
her first born

rampant river overflows
old dam gives in

A post at Chris at The Muscleheaded Blog made me think of a poem I read this week by Chiyo-Ni

nani kite mo
utsukushiku naru
tsukimi kana
beautiful
whatever we wear
moon viewing

sleepwalks
on a midsummer night

Inspiration:
a peony bush
heavy with flowers …
trying to pick
from a long list of names
for the full spring moon

arbuste penchant
amour lourd de pivoine
coeur tender verse ses larmes
flowered shrub leans
peonies weighed with love
tender heart bleeds tears

Hu, Jennifer (2014-10-30). The Flow of Peace: 40 Haiku inspired by Zen practice (October 2014) (Kindle Locations 18-19). . Kindle Edition.
Out my window
even the sky
will end. . .

I’ve tried to create a troiku with Hu’s haiku:
Out my window
even the sky
will end. . .
© Jennifer Hu
out my window
a robin preys
fledglings chirp
even the sky
has its limits,
weeps
will end…
for a season – only,
weep not

This was not an easy prompt. I usually do not participate because I look through Lolly’s amazing poems, then flip through a few other family members and cannot decide. So this time chose Jennifer Hu. Oh, it was still a difficult feat since I have about 5 haiku collections by her. So I chose a few from (2014-11-25). Final Things: 40 Haiku inspired by Zen practice, Kindle Edition

but the mirror

Suddenly
the crickets
hush.

swallows in the tree
lost their tweet
