This is a new poetic form I am trying called the Puente (which means bridge in Spanish), uses a one line “bridge” to connect the first and last stanzas.
– 3 stanzas
– Stanzas 1 & 3 contain different ideas, thoughts
– Stanzas 1 & 3 consist of the same number of lines (meter and/or rhyming up to poet)
– Stanza 2 connects meaning from first to last stanza
– Stanza 2 must be one line enclosed in tildes ( ~ )
– Stanza 2 is the last line of Stanza 1 and first line of Stanza 3
A little bit about moi:
I am a mom, a nana, a sister, a woman, a friend, a human being…a youth counsellor, Family Life Educator.
I have been working in the helping profession for over 25 years and volunteered in various capacities from youths to seniors.
Tournesol is my nom de plume for haiku and other Japanese form poetry here at Tournesoldansunjardin https://cheryllynnroberts.wordpress.com I hope you enjoy reading through my daily waka.
I also have another blog "Stop the Stigma" where I may stand on my soapbox now and then and hope it will become a place to drop in and share or comment on issues important to you. In that vein this could be a great way to learn from each other.

Like how this developes from an introspective sort of melancholy through the bridge to a happier perspective! Really very well done.
Thanks so much, Georgia, for your kind words. Ironically, the second part actually refers to crossing the Champlain Bridge and I’m in the city where there are plenty of summer festivals:) That was just a coincidence.
Thanks for commenting in my blog. And sorry, I prefer my poem not be reblogged. I appreciate you thinking it would be good though. I am just not into that kind of thing.
Thank you, Donna, for reading my poem. Yes, I often put it off since I work late evenings in the city and don’t always want to go back on a day off…but I do have some time off…there are so many free venues (about 15 stages) all over the a section of the city from noon to 1am for 10 days.
Thanks so much, Alan, writing like this is quite honestly how we do think sometimes…how we can have 2 contractor thoughts going on at the same time. Makes me think of lots of relationships especially with teens…love/hate relationships…Oh! that’s a great idea for another Puente!! 😀
Well thank you for your kind words, Juan. I had to reread what I wrote that you found good (heh heh) Hope you are well…I am still without internet and my phone is dying on me quickly…grrrr can`t change as Canada`s biggest telecommunication conpany gas got me for another 2 years 😦
Wonderful news, Juan!! Happy for you. Amma was an amazing experience. I feel blessed to have been part of such a weekend and at this time of year, I was exposed to so many wonderful celebrations and got 4 hugs:)

Your poem expresses so well the wonder that can be found in the world, if only one looks around….especially in summer.
