A little bit about moi:
I am a mom, a nana, a sister, a woman, a friend, a human being…a youth counsellor, Family Life Educator.
I have been working in the helping profession for over 25 years and volunteered in various capacities from youths to seniors.
Tournesol is my nom de plume for haiku and other Japanese form poetry here at Tournesoldansunjardin https://cheryllynnroberts.wordpress.com I hope you enjoy reading through my daily waka.
I also have another blog "Stop the Stigma" where I may stand on my soapbox now and then and hope it will become a place to drop in and share or comment on issues important to you. In that vein this could be a great way to learn from each other.

Absolutely…at least the memory can be nurtured.

Oh Tournesol — this is so tragic — and it has shades of Hiawatha too – http://www.hwlongfellow.org/poems_poem.php?pid=277

I hadn’t read it for a long time either but I was researching trochaic meter (long story) and ran into it yesterday. Soooo…. it was fresh in mind. 🙂

It is often confused with the story of Hiawatha in Ontario; my tanka was not sad, just summer loves often end in autumn during the Blood Moon:)

All too often fragile and ephemeral … sad tanka but very well written!

The feigning seems to be everywhere, doesn’t it? In love, out of love, in politics, out of politics. Why can’t we just be real?

Thanks, Martha, I’ve noticed lilies more this past summer…maybe because every city around me seemed to have in their landscape scheme:)

I’ve noticed a lot of lilies around where I live as well, but that’s just because my dog loves them and so makes sure I’m aware of them being there.
