Carpe Diem Special Thomas Transtromer
Oak trees and the moon.
Light and mute constellations.
And the frigid sea

These two shots were taken on my way to my mother’s place last November. I stopped my car on the highway to take a shot on my left, this is the moon and on my right the sun was setting in splendour…cold evening but stayed out long enough to get a few shots.

A slight change to place “through” at the last line. Thank you, Kristjaan:) It flows smoothly.

The trees are naked up north already, aren’t they? One of the advantages of desert dwelling is that we have at least some trees with leaves 12 months a year.

Oh these photos are beautiful and your haiku reflects them perfectly in its lovliness!

So, these two images were happening simultaneously? Oh that must have been an breath-taking sight to take in!

It was on each side of the road but very dangerous to drive since I kept checking both sides…fortunately it was a nice country road.

Early moon rise / salutes shimmering star through / naked trees A gorgeous haiku Cheryl Lynn however I will try to give you a suggestion which makes your haiku a little bit stronger if you don’t mind.
I would suggest you to re-place “through” (in the second line) to the start of the third line. Than your haiku would be more fluid. It’s just a suggestion,
early moon shines
salutes shimmering star
through naked trees
Well … what do you think … it’s just a suggestion ….

I think seeing the moon through a canopy has its own magic. (or even a ghostly one)

I love that line “pregnant moon”, an old country Québecois expression for pregnant is “plein” well, it is not nice to say that to a woman but farmers will say their cow is plein (full)
