He was only 13 months old and could barely walk in his stiff white winter boots. I took him out of his car seat. I placed him on the huge parking lot at his father’s garage, that was filled with virgin snow. He looked down and lifted one foot and saw his footprint in the snow; he froze with his baby blues widened, reflecting the light from the showroom. He then started tiptoeing so as not to mess up the white powdery carpet.
Baby blues glow,
tiptoeing on white powder
pure enchantment

Oh, this is so sweet!
My kiddo stood there and bawled in confusion. But the next year he had no qualms in messing up the snow.
Great memories here —- loved it 🙂

Yes, my daughter was quite upset…I had to pick her up. She never liked the snow like her brother did though…he was a maniac at making snow forts.

When you think about it, it WOULD have to be a bit confusing for the kiddos ….

Oh dear ….
I don’t think you have a mind like a sieve. But if you did, it would be easier to let the painful stuff – the ugly stuff, the hurtful stuff – pass through, right?
Better to cry and let it out. You’ll live longer 😀

Thanks, my daughter’s first snow was similar actually only I had to pick her up.I wonder what toddlers see in the snow…probably a white carpet that can get dirty. This was fun and a nice shift in thinking. Thanks for the prompt. I saw Jules and thought I would give it a try.

A lovely memory … we had little to do with snow, so I missed out on memories like this with my boys … thanks for sharing with us 🙂

Somewhere I have a photo I took of my grandson’s foot prints in the snow…
Interesting how children want to preserve the beauty in nature… well sometimes anyway. 🙂
Snow is a sporadic thing here. The snowman type snow isn’t always what comes down.
I have one of a snowman I made that looked like a cartoon character…
Now of course snow sculpture can be like beach sand or even chalk art. Briefly beautiful. Keep your camera handy 🙂

So true…the hours you put into sculpting sand or snow but it is the process that is the magic and not the end result.

This almost makes me weepy-eyed, babies filled with wonder–too bad we lose so much of that as we get older.
