lost (Haiga – Freestyle haiku)

I feel a bit silly after writing my love of spring weather and embracing that “feel good” ambiance on my way to work this afternoon…hence the tanka, Love is in the air.  As I stepped out tonight to come home at  22:00, this is what I saw…I felt like writing a poem starting with SNOW is a 4-letter word but decided to turn this into an opportunity and write a more thought-provoking “free style” haiku for this haiga festival.

mind slips in overcast
too spent to resume
blow blow, let the wind blow
weary brain may recover

Snow is definitely a 4 letter word in my vocabulary, too !!! 😀

And this time of year some drivers were probably using other four letter words last night…lovely white thick snow, topped with icy pellets layered over black ice:( So glad I take the bus

😀 You’re so right — I bet even your bus driver was thinking them up. 😀

Our bus drivers are pretty tame and amazing drivers when you consider they drive those double (accordion style) buses too.

Wow– I bet those are tricky to drive, too.

Excellent — I’d rather ride with a woman bus driver– they’re calmer. 🙂

They are all pretty calm…one young fella was listening to amazing jazz on the way home one night. It’s an express, so they just whip across the Champlain bridge to Place Bonaventure…takes 15 -20 mins.

Your feelings of being lost in winter really come across here – in a very poetic way. I do like the idea of a haiku of snow as a 4 letter word though 🙂 I really hope you get some better weather soon.

Nice sunny day today at -8 but tonight down to the double digits again. I should not complain…spring likes to tease us here…we do still have 3 weeks

I especially like ‘scribbles a haiku’ – the way the haijin might be the author or the weather itself 🙂
