A little bit about moi:
I am a mom, a nana, a sister, a woman, a friend, a human being…a youth counsellor, Family Life Educator.
I have been working in the helping profession for over 25 years and volunteered in various capacities from youths to seniors.
Tournesol is my nom de plume for haiku and other Japanese form poetry here at Tournesoldansunjardin https://cheryllynnroberts.wordpress.com I hope you enjoy reading through my daily waka.
I also have another blog "Stop the Stigma" where I may stand on my soapbox now and then and hope it will become a place to drop in and share or comment on issues important to you. In that vein this could be a great way to learn from each other.

So sad when the longest day is mingled with tears

I wrote about a new ritual on my other blog River Flows that will make it less sad but memorable.

Peace to you…beautiful love must be grieved when cut short.

It must and I think we always keep our mother close to us all our lives.

Friend, we are feeling this, too. My husband’s mom passed one day after we moved out of our home of 21 years. Yesterday we watched a movie that had a scene of an elderly lady dying. My big, strong husband melted into a puddle of tears. She passed less than two years ago. Hugs to you across the miles.

Oh my! Janice your comment touched me so much. A colleague was telling me her grandfather of 76 still weeps on his mother`s birthday. I understand now how my mother and her siblings were still weeping every Christmas even twenty years later.

Your writing about missing your mom always makes me wish I had had that kind of relationship with mine. But now I do, with Amma!

But my hugs with Amma are like those with my grandmother:)
