a creative process (troibun)

Late evenings she sits at her antique desk waiting. It was a test of patience that her creative mind endured every night.

by the window
holds her mother’s vintage pen
under lit candle

by the window
signs of a summer’s breeze
a flame flutters

holds her mother’s vintage pen
waiting for her muse to write
words of her own

under lit candle
waits to untangle letters,
like a magic potion

    1. She is always with me, Melinda, although she did not have an antique plume (smiles)…but how she loved my writing even as a young child when I wrote very awkward sounding poems. She’d always make me feel like I was a genius 😀 In her eyes I was very special. Nothing can lift a child’s spirits but such love.

      1. I know I am. As I age I am reminded how my grandmother might have been at this time and I find she had so much more energy than I did…boy was she a busy woman!!
