There was a soft breeze in the morning at barely ten knots but by noon it had dropped. They might not get to Grand Isle in time. He lowered the sail and leaned back and let her tack the jib searching patiently for a puff here and there. For the first time in years, the children were at their grandparents and they were finally able to talk without interruptions.

Carpe Diem #1114 Arrival (at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port)
Beautiful haibun Cheryl Lynn …. I like how it fits our pilgrimage month. Sometimes you need time to speak with your loved ones on a place where no one disturbs you.

Thanks, those were treasured moments when the children were little. And yes, the walk along the road to Santiago needs to be done with awareness. I am enjoying the book I received this week
